A Miniature Lingerie Shop

I wanted everything to be very feminine in here lots of lace, silk and bling.
The shop is named for my maternal grandmother, Clarissa.
She died long before I was born, so she is always a beautiful young woman in my mind

I loved filling this shop. My girlie side came out and my head stayed filled with ribbons and lace for weeks. All through February 2012 I reveled in it, to heck with that crummy weather outside. I made pretty things and watched the movie Marie Antoinette about 50 times. Well actually I just listened to the music from the movie most of those times.	I made the nightgown above from a very old hankie that was once my mother`s. My dear Mum kept everything, not like a hoarder, quite the opposite, all of her stash was organized and she kept a mental inventory of it. Not only did she know what she had, but exactly where it was. This handkerchief must have been around since the 1950`s, I love how delicate the fabric has become over the years.

My first experience using silk ribbon. Love it. I had tried for years to make nice bows with other ribbons, nothing ever looked good. Silk ribbon is the only way to go. Its amazing, as you can see , it gathers beautifully and when you tie a bow the centre knot can be pulled very tight, while the other parts of the bow are pouf out beautifully.I am hooked.	These fuscia and black corsets are quite easy to make from cardstock, a little lace and some fabric. To give the garments shape I make the bra top from lace covered pom poms.

The perfume bottles are my first attempt at using crystal beads to make perfume bottles. The sweet little gift boxes of soaps and lotions are made by my friend, Carole. She sells them at her Folksy shop here. middlemumsminiatures	Lots of pretty girlie things in the counter Soaps and creams

I tried to keep to just a few colours in this shop. Pink and purple are the predominant hues, but there is also a lot of black and white.	The ladies bust is from a doll kit which someone gave to me.The necklace she is wearing is made from peel and stick gems. Easy Peasy
